Based on Scott Sedita’s signature class, Audition Technique, this online class is for the intermediate/advanced actor who’s self-taping for auditions. All class sides are from various dramatic TV & Film genres (crime procedural, medical, supernatural, horror, etc.). Actors are taught Scott’s famous script analysis technique W.O.F.R.A.I.M. to help them prepare for their self-tape auditions.

Format

SELF TAPE: Each week, through Google Classroom, actors will be sent audition sides, asked to self-tape and then submit their auditions for playback in class. REVIEW: In Scott’s Zoom Room, each actor will receive critique and an adjustment on their performances, as well as feedback on the technical aspects of self-taping (i.e. camera angles, lighting, sound, backdrop, wardrobe, sightlines, etc.). PERFORM LIVE: After a short break to incorporate Scott’s adjustments, actors will return to perform their scene LIVE in class with a reader.

Highly recommended by agents, managers and casting directors for the new actor, NBO I is a 7-week comprehensive basic TV & Film acting technique class designed to provide actors with solid TV & Film acting training. Within it’s safe and professional environment, students are encouraged to explore their unique voices and uncover dynamic individuality. Throughout this online acting course, actors learn by doing and grow in confidence each week. Each class begins with guided exercises designed to warm students up vocally, emotionally, and creatively. NBO II is a 7-week comprehensive intermediate TV & Film acting technique class. It builds upon the TV & Film acting techniques, creative explorations, and professional principles introduced in Nuts & Bolts Online I. In this class, students get to apply what they learned in NBO I and use it in the interpretation of film scripts in collaboration with a scene partner. The focus in NBO II is basic scene study, emotional truth, spontaneity, and sustained commitment to a character’s Wants and Actions. Scene Partners are guided in finding a grounded and detailed understanding of the script by having an acute sense of the Given Circumstances.

Format

In NBO II the Tenets of Imagination Work and The Magical What If? will be explored and reinforced through in-class exercises, at home assignments, and reading material. Students will learn the professional disciplines of rehearsal and collaboration with a scene partner and receive individual assessments based on individual acting needs.

ONLINE TV & FILM SCENE STUDY is an intermediate acting course, in which students will learn to create and sustain a role in preparation for TV & film Acting. Over the 7-week course, students will be presented with the opportunity to perform scenes from TV & film scripts, taking their characters on a more in-depth journey. Students will be expected to create three-dimensional characters that are both interesting and believable. They will be encouraged to create strong backstories, expectations and fantasies for their character’s, while applying Scott Sedita’s W.O.F.R.A.I.M. script analysis technique to their scenes. Scenes will be rehearsed, filmed and reviewed, with assessment and feedback.

Format

This class includes in-class exercises, at-home assignments and reading material, all designed to empower the actor by expanding upon the solid foundation learned in NBO. Students will also be given the chance to experience the Self Tape, Call Back and Screen Test segments of the audition process for pursuing a role.

Each class actors will work on exercises pertaining to:
Sustaining character choices and objectives throughout a complete narrative.
Taking direction and employing director adjustments “on the fly.”
Advanced critical analysis of recorded work.
Bringing honesty and integrity to an on-camera performance.

After completion of Scott Sedita’s Online Comedy Intensive, actors are invited to join the Sitcom Acting Technique class. In these maintenance classes, actors continue to work on The Sedita Method; breaking down sitcom scripts, identifying and delivering jokes and implementing Scott’s The Eight Characters of Comedy.

Through exercises, prepared scenes, self-tapes and auditioning, actors continue to explore and refine their comedic skills.

Format

In this class conducted via Zoom, actors will be emailed TV or Film comedy sides to prepare. At the top of class, Tony will breakdown the script, identify comedic beats, discuss character, etc. Before live performance in class, actors are placed in breakout rooms for partnered practicing. Each actor will perform the scene 2-3 times and receive critique and an adjustment on their performances. Every actor works at least twice a class and spaces are limited, allowing each student individual attention.
